I used to feel guilty for doing nothing.

Are you, like myself, unable to relax because there’s always something you “should” be doing? “I should be working out.” “I should be planning my week.” I should, I should, I should.
Take a deep breath, and I’ll let you in on a little secret.
Rest is productive.
(Not that you always have to be productive, but that’s a conversation for another day 😉)
I notice this all the time – people saying that they feel guilty for taking a rest day from their workouts. We are not robots! We may not have the capacity for as much activity today as we did yesterday. Even if we were robots, we’d have to recharge at some point 🤖
Allowing yourself time to rest is necessary for your body to heal between days of physical activity. This is the time that your body heals and benefits from all the work you’ve done! Not to mention, rest is also necessary for your mental and emotional health. We are constantly overstimulated by sensory inputs and new knowledge.
What if we just enjoyed our rest, rather than feeling ashamed of it?
It’s ok to rest. It’s more than ok to rest.
